Situated in the centre of the Niagara peninsula, it is only 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Toronto and 19 kilometers (12 miles) from Niagara Falls and the U.S. border. Known as the city “Where Ships Climb the Mountain”, it is steeped in the history of the Welland Canal.
