Ontario Nature Trails Code

While exploring the trails listed on this site take note of the following Ontario Nature Trails Code:

  1. Hike only along marked routes. Do not take short cuts.
  2. Please pay user fees, if applicable. These fees help to maintain the trails.
  3. Obey all signage.
  4. Use the stiles.  Do not climb fences.
  5. Respect the privacy of people living along the Trail.
  6. Leave the Trail cleaner than you found it. Carry out all litter.
  7. No open fires are allowed on the Trails.
  8. Leave flowers and plants for others to enjoy. Protect trees & shrubs. Do no strip bark from trees.
  9. Do not damage live trees or remove bark.
  10. Where dogs are permitted, keep dogs on a leash and under control at all times. And stoop & scoop.
  11. Do not disturb wildlife and farm animals. Do not feed them.
  12. Remember: you use the trails only at your own risk.
  13. Leave only your thanks and take nothing but photographs.

The Ontario Nature Trails Code is general in nature. Each trail may have additional rules posted. Please obey them.
