The Dam Trail begins with a small footpath that crosses the provincial lift locks over the Magnetawan River leading to a small island chain that stretches across the water. The trail is a network of footpaths on the first and largest of the islands and provides a short and easy walk through a mixed upland hardwood and conifer bush. Interpretive signs can be found beside the trail in several locations detailing some of the local history and ecological features of the area.
