Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail is a 300 km long corridor running between Sturgess Road in Montague and Mattawa.  The Lanark County section is 61km (from Sturgess Rd to the 417 at Arnprior).

As a transportation route, in Lanark County, the OVRT is a one-size-fits-all trail, offering users stellar scenery and world-class views along its roughly 61-kilometre route. A safe, level, gravel-or-paved trail for cycling, walking, all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles makes the trail desirable for all users.

The trail can be accessed at the trailhead at 451 Sturgess Rd, Montague, ON or in the downtown areas of Carleton Place and Almonte, ON. There is a dedicated parking lot at Beckwith Concession 10. Lanark County is currently building another parking area at Giles Corners (Cty Road 10)
