Happy Valley Forest Tract is located at the centre of King. It is one of the largest intact hardwood forests on the Oak Ridges Moraine. The forest is classified as a provincially significant Area of Natural and Scientific Interest by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and is protected by the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan. It is over 1000 hectares in size consisting of an upland forest on steeply rolling topography, old field habitats, several creek valleys, various wooded swamps and wetland areas.
