Welcome to Lasalle!
In the mid-1700s, French settlers were the first to establish roots in this area. Named for French explorer Rene Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle, this community has grown from its modest early days to become a lively and vibrant town. Geographically, LaSalle is a very “big” small town, encompassing an area with over 30 km of hiking trails, and more than 100 acres of parkland, Carolinian forests, wetlands and tall grass prairies. Golfers will especially appreciate the town’s scenic and challenging courses.
Known for its welcoming and friendly atmosphere, LaSalle plays host to numerous events, most notably the Annual Strawberry Festival. In addition to delicious strawberry-filled delights, this four-day festival offers a wide variety of family friendly events that will appeal to both young and old. Throughout the year, fun and excitement is always waiting at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex. This state-of-the-art facility, home of the Junior B Hockey League’s LaSalle Vipers, has two NHL-size ice pads, an indoor aquatic leisure pool, an indoor track for walking and running, 22 soccer pitches and landscaped nature trails.
