Nature Trails near Harriston, Ontario

Harriston is a Town in the amalgamated community of the Town of Minto.

The Town of Minto is composed of the former Towns of Harriston and Palmerston, the former Village of Clifford and surrounding rural area of the former Minto Township. Located in the northwestern boundary of Wellington County, the Town of Minto is well situated between the major centres of southern Ontario and popular recreational areas along the eastern shore of Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay. Our unique identity as a community is a product of a proud agricultural heritage, the history and contributions of those who settled in this place, and the sense of volunteerism and commitment to community that has helped us achieve everything that Minto is today. Our culture and heritage is the glue that connects old residents and new, our past and our future.

The Town of Minto is an event and culture-based destination with numerous family-centred events and activities taking place throughout the community all year round. Enjoy our historic downtowns, which feature live theatre, a cinema, galleries, a railway museum, shopping and restaurants. Our community boasts three arenas, two swimming pools and numerous ball and soccer fields, acres of parkland and scenic walking trails. Stop and play golf, mini golf and lawn bowling. Minto is also home to wonderful agritourism destinations. Check out some of these unique properties including Flowers to Fragrance Lavender Farm, WildThings Plant Farm, Reroot Organic Farm, Steckle’s Flowers & Produce and our popular Farmers’ Markets in Harriston and Palmerston which operate from the beginning of June till the end of August.
