The 136-hectare Taquanyah Conservation Area has a network of trails through forests and near wetlands and the coldwater Mill Creek. There are interpretive signs along the trail to help you understand more about the property. It is in the Carolinian zone, which means it has species that are normally found much further south in the U.S.
The area is at Townline Road West and Decewsville Road, just west of Cayuga. There is a parking area on Decewsville Road
In 2005, a dam and large reservoir were taken out of operation. After that, the area was restored with the addition of new wetlands, ponds and trails. Trees and shrubs were planted.

Drove 45 minutes to hike this Conservation area. Very disappointed in the upkeep of the trails. Grass has not been cut in a long time. Husband ended up with a tick on him. No markers to follow the trails. Lots of interpretive signs however, saw nothing.
