From your parked car head east on the River Kwai Side Trail. Crossing the River Kwai follow this blue-blazed trail for 3.5 km until you reach an intersection with the main Bruce Trail.  Turn left onto the main trail and follow the white blazes. The trail gradually reaches the top of the escarpment. There are high cliffs and deep crevices in this section and CAUTION IS RECOMMENDED.

There are beautiful views over Georgian Bay and the Meaford Land Forces Training Centre. When the armed forces are in training the sound of explosives can be deafening.

Eventually the trail reaches the training centre boundary fence and turns west and then north.  When you come to the intersection with the Bayview Escarpment Side Trail, and you want to shorten your loop distance, you can turn left onto this side trail and follow its blue blazes to regain the main trail after 1.7 km. You will have saved 1.1 km.

If you stay on the main trail you will again come upon some lookouts over the training centre. The main trail will bring you out to the St. Vincent, Sydenham Town Line.

Head south on the Town Line for 1.5 km to your parked car.

This loop trail falls within the Sydenham section of the Bruce Trail. For more information on other loop and side trails and the portion of the main Bruce Trail in this section please visit the Sydenham Bruce Trail Club’s website at http://www.sydenhambrucetrail.ca/
