PUKASKWA NATIONAL PARK TRAILS
Coastal Trail (Section 2):
This is a very demanding trail which hooks in with 65 km Section 1 which is in the Lake Superior Provincial Park.
Boardwalk Beach Trail: Easy 1.2 km trail. This is a boardwalk stroll from the Visitors Centre to Horshoe Bay.
Hattie Cove Fire Walk: .7 km easy trail. From the visitors centre you wander through the 2012 Hattie Cove Prescribed Fire Area and learn about the role of fire in a boreal ecosystem.
Beach Trail: 2km moderate difficulty trail. Meander along Pukaskwa’s sandy , driftwood beaches.
Southern Headland Trail: 2.2 km moderately difficult trail. Experience the wild shore of an inland sea. This rugged trail just into Lake Superior. Look for tine arctic-alpine plants, lichens and other unique life forms shielded amongst the rock formations.
Manito Miikna Trail: 2 km moderately difficult trail. “The spirit trail”. Peek through a rocky ravine as you climb for panoramic views of Lake Superior and the Pic River dunes. Two viewing decks.
Bimose Kinoomagewnan Trail: 3.7 km moderately difficult trail. On this “walk of Teachings” you will learn the Seven Grandfathers Teachings from Ojibway elders and youth.
White River Suspension Bridge Trail: 18 km difficult trail. Starts at the Visitors Centre and follows the Coast Trail. Not for the faint of heart. The suspension bridge crosses 23 metres White River high above Chigaaminwinigum Falls.
