Conveniently located just off Hwy. 38 south of Verona, Portland Conservation Area offers almost 23 hectares (56 acres) for picnics and relaxation. An open stand of mature Maple trees provides a backdrop to the picnic area, which includes tables and a large shelter. For canoeing enthusiasts, a short portage guides you to the shore of Hambly Lake, known to locals as “Silver Lake.” The trails are enjoyable in any season, but are truly spectacular when the fall colours are in full display
Portland Conservation Area has just one of the many nature trails and hiking trails you can find throughout Ontario by using the search features of OntarioNaturetrails.com
