Pakkotinna Recreation Trail is moderate in difficulty and travels through dense forest and some marshy areas. In the spring the west loop can be quite wet.
There is a panoramic view of Golden Lake.
As the trail is not well maintained, hikers and bikers should carry a compass with them.
