Landscape drama on a hike through Limerick Forest to Wolford Bog this morning. Limerick Forest is a cathedral of towering pines, but 100 years ago tiny homesteads scraped a living from an inch of soil over limestone. Wolford Bog is an expanse of moss and reeds stretching beyond the horizon, where 10,000 years ago a glacier scraped a shallow depression in the limestone.
