Jack Van Nostrand Nature Reserve is located a short distance south and east of Grafton, this 14 ha (35 acre) parcel includes a sizable portion of a Provincially Significant Wetland as well as a drier wooded area. The wetland is largely cattail marsh bordered by alder swamp and wet woodland. Along its south edge is about 400 m of essentially pristine Lake Ontario shoreline, an increasingly rare habitat.
