From the parking lot on the 9th Side Rd about 100 yards east of the Town Line and the hamlet of Duncan, ON start your hike by heading south on the main Bruce Trail. Follow the white blazes for .7 km until you come to the intersection with the Chuck Grant Side Trail. Turn left onto this Side trail and follow the blue blazes for 3.3 km until you again intersect with the main trail. The side trail descends the escarpment, crosses Mill Creek, then crosses the 10th Line. A rather steep climb of the escarpment awaits you prior to intersecting with the main trail. A right hand turn onto the main trail and following the white blazes for 6.4 km will bring you back to your parked car.
Shortly after you start on this section of the main trail you will arrive at Metcalfe Rock with a beautiful view.
You have a choice of descending the escarpment via the main trail or taking the blue blazed Metcalfe Crevice Side Trail which will take you through a rocky gorge 30 metres high containing several caves. If you take the Side Trail you will rejoin the main trail at the base of the escarpment.
Stay on the white blazed main trail. You will pass the base of Pinnacle Rock and the Duncan Caves to the right of the trail once you are back on the top of the escarpment.
