New Hamburg is a town in the amalgamated community of the Township of Wilmot.


Nestled along the banks of the Nith River, the Township of Wilmot is a small municipality in the Region of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.


Comprised of rolling farmland, quaint villages and bustling towns Wilmot Township is a popular destination to live, work, play and invest.


The majority of our residents live in the towns of New Hamburg and Baden and the smaller communities of St. Agatha, Petersburg, Mannheim, New Dundee, Philipsburg, Shingletown, Wilmot Centre, Haysville, Luxemburg, Lisbon, Sunfish Lake and Foxboro Green.



While visiting Wilmot and utilizing our nearly 58km of trails, enjoy the many fine restaurants and shops in the community. When planning your visit, take note of the many festivals and events occurring around the Township or take in a visit to Castle Kilbride National Historic Site, the jewel of Wilmot Township. Located next to Castle Kilbride is the Prime Ministers Path, a short walking trail with statues of Canada’s Prime Ministers.
