With a population of just over 8,100 residents, Kapuskasing is surrounded by many small communities, such as Opasatika, Val Rita-Harty, Moonbeam, Fauquier-Strickland and Smooth Rock Falls, and acts as the centre of services to a total population base of approximately 15,000.
