Nature Trails near Camden East, Ontario

Welcome to Camden East!

Camden East is a community in the Township of Stone Mills.

The picturesque Township of Stone Mills is located in the centre of the County of Lennox and Addington. The Township consists of 708 square kilometres and is nestled between the Highway 401 corridor between the communities of Odessa and Napanee in the south and Highway 7 and the Canadian Shield in the north.

Our 11 villages and hamlets are surrounded by rolling agricultural land, numerous streams, lakes and two major rivers, being the Napanee and Salmon. The Salmon River and it’s watershed has been recognized as the most pristine river system flowing into the Bay of Quinte.

We recognize the need to conserve and preserve our natural resources while encouraging green energy through solar power generation within the Township.

Stone Mills is home to the only official Gaeltacht outside of Ireland. This cultural centre, located just east of Tamworth, teaches the Irish language (Gaelic), through music, dance and storytelling.

Volunteerism is alive and well in Stone Mills. Our community volunteers play a pivotal role in a wide variety of recreational programs and services throughout our Township. The local business associations are committed to promoting Stone Mills as a great place to live, work and visit.
